What To Do About Identity Verification Failed Sassa SRD Status

SRD grant applications are verified with the Department of Home Affairs before the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) approves them. The ‘Identity Verification Failed’ status indicates that Sassa did not match the applicant’s information with the Department of Home Affairs.

Application details are processed through a number of databases when the agency considers an applicant’s application. An applicant’s name, surname, and ID number are first verified by the Department of Home Affairs.

It is possible to appeal the decision if you believe that your application was unfairly denied. In that case, Sassa will need to reconsider its application for a SRD grant.

Within 30 days of receiving a rejection status, the applicant must appeal on the Sassa website.
