When Is the Payment Date for May 2023 SASSA SRD R350 Grant?

As the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grant payment collection dates approach, beneficiaries will need to be aware of the upcoming collection date for Sassa grant payments. Recent changes have been made to Sassa’s grant payment schedule.

When Is the Payment Date for May 2023 SASSA SRD R350 Grant?

Sassa released the following statement on Friday morning:

All social grant recipients are being informed of critical changes to the May 2023 payment schedule by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).

As of May 25, Sassa grants will be paid as follows:

• Older Persons Grants: 4 May 2023
• Disability Grants: 5 May 2023
• Children’s Grants: 8 May 2023

According to Sassa, the only changes that will be made to Sassa grant payment dates for 2023/24 are those that have already been released.

Sassa explained further, “In case of changes in the payment schedule, Sassa will inform you in due course.”

In an effort to prevent beneficiaries from withdrawing all of their Sassa funds, the agency has encouraged them to use their cards instead. Furthermore, Sassa has stated that beneficiaries should also not withdraw their funds prematurely.

“As well, grant recipients are encouraged to be patient, as their funds will remain available in their accounts until they are ready to withdraw them,” stated the statement.

The Sassa grant money will always be available for beneficiaries to withdraw, even if they are unable to withdraw during the first few days after they receive payment.

Lastly, the agency apologized for any inconvenience or frustration that these changes may have caused.
