Good news Sassa Now Paying SRD Grants For March 2025

SRD grant payments will be made to millions in March 2025, with Sassa confirming the payment dates. This week, millions will receive payments. Payments will be made between March 26 and 29, 2025. Beneficiaries should check their Sassa status on the SRD website for their exact payment date. March 2025 beneficiaries will receive R370. After processing, Sassa says payments will take two to three working days to reflect

SRD grant recipients have two options for collection:

• Direct deposit into their bank account.
• Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, USave, OK, and Spar supermarkets.

Beneficiaries should allow two to three days for payments to appear in their accounts.

For SRD grants, applicants provide their ID number, name, and surname, which are validated by the Department of Home Affairs. To assess their financial situation, the ID number is checked against various databases including the South African Revenue Service (SARS), Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), and National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). NSFAS, the UIF, or any other government entity will not be paid SRD grant beneficiaries.

An ID number and mobile number undergo a fraud risk scoring process. When all these checks are completed, Sassa will evaluate your application and decide whether to approve or deny it. SRD grant appeals can be submitted if your grant application was rejected by Sassa.

As part of the Annual Budget Speech, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced that the SRD grant would be extended until March 2026. To continue funding the grant for an additional year, the government has allocated R35.2 billion to the grant.
