Hurray Up ! March 2023 SASSA SRD R350 Now Pending

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has been providing financial assistance to vulnerable individuals through the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.

Hurray Up ! March 2023 SASSA SRD R350 Now Pending

Over the past two years, the grant has undergone numerous changes and extensions, initially providing R350 per month to eligible applicants. In March 2023, many South Africans are wondering about the SASSA SRD R350 Grant’s current status.

Applicants have reported that the March 2023 module is now available on the SASSA online portal and is awaiting approval. Individuals who have applied for the grant will need to wait until their application has been reviewed and approved before they can receive payment for March.

The SRD grant may not be available to all applicants. In order to qualify for SASSA, an individual must be unemployed, not receiving income from another source, and not receiving any government social assistance. Applicants must also be South African citizens or permanent residents, over 18, and not receiving UIF payments (unemployment insurance fund).

Over the past two years, several changes have been made to the application process and eligibility criteria for the SRD grant. As an example, the SRD grant was initially available for a six-month period, but has since been extended several times. SASSA has also implemented stricter eligibility criteria to ensure that only the most vulnerable individuals receive the grant.

The SRD grant is also not a permanent solution to poverty or unemployment. Despite providing much-needed financial relief in the short term, the government should focus on long-term solutions that address poverty and unemployment’s root causes.

SASSA’s SRD R350 Grant appears to be pending approval for eligible applicants for March 2023. In order to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying, applicants should regularly check the SASSA online portal for updates on their application status.
